A rug can hide a surprising amount of dry grit even when it looks tidy. That grit, the occasional spill and the floor underneath all influence the cleaning plan. Our on site service suits routine care for many area rugs, from hallway runners to larger living room pieces. We identify the material where possible, check the backing and dyes, and talk through any pet contamination or delicate edges. If the rug needs specialist washing or repair, we will explain that before starting. An honest recommendation is part of looking after a piece you want to keep.

What happens on the day
01Assess the rug and the room
We check fibers, backing, dyes, damage and the floor beneath the rug, then confirm whether on site care is suitable.
02Remove dry soil
Loose soil is removed before wet work. The construction determines which preparation methods are appropriate.
03Prepare the rug body
Suitable pretreatment and gentle agitation address the soil in the rug body. Delicate fibers and edges are handled accordingly.
04Clean with a suitable method
Moisture, temperature and chemistry are chosen for the rug. We do not default to high heat extraction on wool or delicate pieces.
05Plan drying and return to use
We check the result and give guidance on airflow, the floor below and when to replace furniture or resume normal use.

Do you clean rugs in my home?
Yes, our on site service covers routine care for suitable rug bodies. We assess fiber, backing, dyes and the floor underneath first. Severe urine contamination, unstable dyes or repair work can make a dedicated rug facility a better option.
Can wool and Oriental rugs be cleaned on site?
Some can, depending on the material, construction, dyes and condition. We assess and test before wetting, and do not default to high heat on wool or delicate pieces. If the risk or contamination calls for specialist washing, we explain that recommendation.
Does the service include rug fringe cleaning or repair?
On site cleaning covers the rug body. We work around or protect the fringe, but do not offer fringe cleaning, straightening or repair at your home. Damaged or heavily soiled fringe needs a specialist rug service.
